This is there second batch. First batch got eaten by the male.

My question is when can I move them into my breeder net? They just hatched yesterday and are just little wigglers down in the gravel. Biggest issue is the male eating them again. Just want to make sure it's not to soon.

a fine mesh net (typically white) will do the trick. catch them in the net underwater then raise it to the top with the square ends horizontal with the water without taking it fully out of the tank. Place your hand or something flat and waterproof over the net opening and then pull the net all the way out of the water, transport it to the new home, and submerse it in the water before removing your hand/flat waterproof object. This will prevent the fry from jumping out of the net. I know they're small but they get some wicked jumps on them and could disappear into the carpet/flooring/etc.

also what gives why no pics? lol

Thanks man. I'll post pics if my phone will even focus in on them. They are tiny of course.

You can also siphon fry out. The 10 gal is a good idea, sometimes other fish can suck fry thru net mesh in an attempt to eat them.
Many times parents will eat fry if there is a threat by other species in the tank, rather than let the other fish eat them, the parents eat them first.

Ive never had any success using those breeder nets in tiny fry. Fish suck em out and really aggressive fish make holes. Best bet is to siphon into bucket and have. 10g ready to go and add fry and parent tank water to 10g. Once free swimming just feed finely powdered fish food.

So I finally moved a batch of fry to a ten to escape being dinner for the dad. They are doing well. I'll update as they grow. If your in the Louisville area you can have some later on. Not sure what I'll end up doing with them all.

Pic of the dad attached too. Just a little guy still. Maybe 4".
