Ok its not an awe inspiring piece of aquaic abode but its the biggest I've ever had. A bike shop 2 blocks from my house had a decent tank in the garage area. two days ago they emptied it. So my room mate went along and asked what they were doing with. They said throwing it away. he said can we take it? they said yes right now.

So torrow i pick up a 200gal with lights, 75gal sump, power heads and stand for free.

so now the question. I have 5 oscars(10-11"), 1 ornate bichir(12-13") and an 8-9" pleco im gonna put in their. wat else can I put in their???? I was tinking Giant gourami, silver aro and a gar. Also maybe 1 or 2 cats for the bottom. But non agrressive.

:feedback: any suggestions?? How abut leave the gar and get one reb belly pacu? :help2: Although I think the pacu will have to move after not too long.

Nice, that's a great find!

5 oscars, pleco and the bichir will do great there, but you might want to stay off the giant gourami... The tank isn't *THAT* big :)

Arowana might be fine, but since the oscars are so big you're gonna have to get a big arowana too.. Same with other inhabitants :)

Awesome. As a garbageman for 13 years (I'm currently on W/C and will have to seek a new career) I loved finding free stuff. Absolutely hate paying retail for anything. Well, except for food. And dental floss. But most of the stuff I have came from the trash or contacts made there. Just think of the money you saved that you can now invest in some realllllly expensive fish!

Yeah I know but I'm only here for another 2-3years then back to africa, so dnt wanna go too expensive as the is no resail on fish in Taiwan, esp to fish shops at even a fifth of the fishes value. Liking the gar idea.

Hell, I'm going to my bike shop to see if they have a tank in storage lol. Nice find man.

I have to agree with you. Oscars do get big and so do Arowanas. With such a big tank though, Do you plan to buy a UV unit to keep the water clear. I hear that Oscars need constant care and water cleaning. I have a South American Lungfish that does well with 2 Arowanas.

200 Gs would really open up the door for you in terms of the kind of fish you keep.
How about you give us some ideas on the kind of fish you want to keep ( aggressive , big , colorful etc.. ) and well give you additional ideas..
