I got my first EBJD about a week ago. Its about 1 1/2 inches big. Can anyone tell me how old it could be? Weeks or months ect? I also included a picture on my profile though that doesn't help by judging its size.

I can t tell you for sure. I can tell you the EBJD fry that I am raising are about 4 or so months old and they are about 1.25-1.5 inches

Not sure if that helps. Growth depends on tank size - feeding and cleaning regiment and then all fish are different also

ebjd r usually smaller than regular jd's.

I would agree that it is over a month old.

Btw, I wouldnt put it with other aggressive fish, at least until it puts on more size and still even than I would make sure it has a significant size advantage over its tank mates.

Ebjd's are a natural color variant, but significantly genetically weaker than other dempseys, thats why breeders separate the ebjd frys into their own growout tank.

In my experience they also tank longer to heal.

good luck
