I purchased at LFS and was sold to me as Keyhole cichlid, was only 1" when I got it. Has grown quite a bit and is now about 3"-4". Appears to me to be a Guianacara just not sure which variety. Opinions?

Thanks.

Guianacara geayi

I agree, it looks a lot like my G. geayi. Although it seems G. geayi may be a misnomer, kind of like S. surinamensis...

Thank you....I was suprised it survived after its mate died. Not sure if it is male of female, its mate was larger but died unexpectantly. It sat on the bottom of the tank for a week and wouldn't eat. I fed bloodworms and that seemed to bring it out of its sulk. Really like the fish but haven't seen them again at the LFS I purchased at but would definately get more if available.
