Amongst the Catfish & Plecos
I was literally talking to my husband earlier tonight about the fact that it seemed like it was time to move one of my 12" fish into another tank since my RTCxTSN had hit 22+". I figured I'd do it in the morning. Well, let's just say I was lucky as hell to have taken a good look before I was turning off the lights. I saw a flailing tail sticking out of my hybrid's mouth. He must have snagged the fish just moments earlier. I managed to grab my hybrid, scare the bejesus out of him,and made him puke up the fish. The fish is fine although slightly scraped, and in now safely in a new tank. Next time the thought runs through my head, the fish is getting moved that moment...:wall: Lucky me, lucky fish I guess.

Oh, and for all those people talking about getting a RTC, a RTCxTSN or TSN... Take note. My baby is turned one year old this July. I got him at the August SoCal meet as a tiny baby. He is still growing like a weed, and eating at least as much food as all three of my land cats combined. Great cat. I love him, and gave it great thought and commitment when I took him home. Just know what you're getting into...

haha gratz lucky lady.... good thing ur fish is ok and not blind or something.... god is on your side:):headbang2

It's a mother's instinct. ;) This is the second time in about 5 months that I have had a strange need to come down stairs and check the fish. The other time, my 120 gallon tank had just sprung a decent leak and we had about 5 gallon of water on the floor before I caught it. Can't let nothing happen to my babies! :D

Wow...you got him at last year's meet? I didn't remember any RTCxTSN Hybrids in the mix, lol.

Yep. My big baby. :) Yeah, last year, there was this little kid running around trading everyone their 'gift bags' and he had this 3" RTCxTSN and I had a small bichir. The little boy really wanted the bichir, and my husband and I had been eying those big cats for a long while. We decided to take the little guy home. We knew what he was, and we knew we would be able to take care of him. On our trip home, we 'somehow' stopped at a lfs and picked up a TSN. We figured at that point we were committed. Might as well go for it. Anyways, the hybrid is 22+" and the TSN is about 18-19", but the hybrid has serious girth and weight to him. And a great personality to go with it. :hearts:

LOL...I remember that little kid. He asked me like 5 times to trade. I don't think he remembered that I kept saying no. Yeah...I used to have one. Great Cat with a lot of personality. I miss mine. It died during a tank move.:( I was looking at some yesterday and thought about getting one again, but I don't have the room for one right now:irked:
