Anyone know anything about these? I got one the other week when i traded in my RTC and shovel nose. Everything i read says they only get about 12''...is that true? because it doesn't sound right. Hes been eating good and hasn't showed any aggression towards any of my other bichirs so theirs no problem i just haven't been able to look anything up cause Ive been a little busy and id just like to know the size and anything else important.

Also hes about 6'' and ill get a pic up tomorrow morning.

Guinean bichir aka polypterus ansorgii can get up to 3 feet or more. It was thought to be that they only max out 11" but only few years ago when they start popping out of the hobby they caught bigger ones. People are still debating if p. ansorgii is the biggest or second biggest bichir next to p. e. congicus.
