the gutar shop has a beat up vintage Lyle hollow body bass. japanese model. model #5120. neck plate #2299555. the neck is shortscale with offset inlay dots. all parts have an antiuqe binding (even neck/head). transparent worn cherry. the bridge pickup is loose (it has 2 pick-ups), and the idiot cut a hole in the back to acess the wiring. no big deal. i will widen the hole, and put on a plastic back acess panel. the idiot also used shortened upright bass strings. didn't work when i plugged it in. maybe just needs a little work. they are asking $50.00 for this repair project.

100 bucks tops. not to be mean.
most gibson or fender ripp offs arn't worth much

50 bucks is still beating ur wallet up though for that

I would get it because of the price. I doubt its worth much. It has the potential to be a pretty good bass. I bought a kick ass 7-string guitar with a price reduction like that. The moron who had it before me put 2 high e strings on it instead of a 7-string set, and it had a sticker on the back, and the fret board was all nasty. I always find it fun to work on an instrument, it makes you appreciate it more.

I have serious issues with that design even if it were a gibson. They are horribly difficult to keep in tune and the necks are a constant headache...(Thats the reason for the short scale by the way. These types of bass'es don't have the strength for a long scale neck.) The action will be too tight to be comfortable and the tone will be disapointing in both electric and acoustic. personally I'd recomend that you keep looking.
