Hello there monsterfishkeepers .. !

Very honored to post that i'm a gulper cat owner for a couple of weeks a.w.s! 2 little asterophysus batrachus/ gulper cats are terrorizing my tank right now. It can be a reincarnation of a german guy with a small mustage who lived about 65- years ago, and his fellow docter .
Just have a question or 2.

The shop owner gave me a medicin (gyrodol) to get rid off worms. Completed the treatment and they looking fine to me. But i dont know everything so here are my questions..

- Is it unnaturally behaviour that 1 off the gulpers is laying constantly on the ground, and the other is 'swimming' above the ground at the same place,.. all day ? During the night they get active i guess. But on the movies on youtube and over here they are eating during daylight.

- Speaking about the movies, they al eat frozen/shrimps etc. What is the best way to switch or combine feeders and frozen ? They dont eat something anything else then feeders right now .. And how to get them active/ eating during daylight ?

Its not that i want a youtube-gulper, but now one else got this fish so there isn't much compared material.

Replys are really welcome ..
Thanks for your time, and greets from Holland !

I am having exactly the same problem with my foor...how to get them off feeders.

Staying in generally the same area the whole day seems normal behaviour.

Ok.. So no need to worry about that. One gulper never touches the ground, but the other 1 always has full contact with the ground. But thats why that called oddballs i guess..

4 gulpers do you mean ?? Nice, how big are they ? I have 1/4 of my tank covered with driftwood and during daylight they occasionally show up.. how about your tank ? empty or some decoration ?

Lets search mfk for some feeders-->frozen- switch tips

Getting them more active during the day is kinda tough. Mine wake up when I feed them but then I watch them more at night because they go everywhere. As far as feeding the easiest way to get them off of live food and eating shrimp is by hand. They may not eat for a week or 2 as you're introducing this method but eventually they will come around. Hope this helps you these are some of my favorites.
