How long do you guys think a full size gulper catfish and oscar can last together? And how many gulper catfish can live in a 80gal tank?

depends how big the Oscar is...but honestly.. i wouldn't risk it, regardless of its size. u could keep 4 or 5 gulpers in a 80 gallon. they don't need a lot of space, but u will need good filtration!

i keep 2 in a 50 gallon and everyday i regret not buying more...their kinda boring.. however, when kept in groups they become more social.

If the oscar was say 12" and the gulper was up to 8" i would say you would be ok but i wouldnt reccomend it if the oscar is any less than the size of the gulper to be safe. I would say about 3-4 Gulpers in an 80G

Ok, if I had a 12" O and a 11: gulper would the oscar be a meal?

i would play it safe and just keep the O. wait until u can get a tank dedicated to the gulpers.

Alrite snds like a good plan!

Ye i have personally seen a 5" Gulper eat a VERY fat 6"-7" goldfish, so if you get an 11" gulper the oscar is probably on borrowed time!

I would go for a smaller gulper if you can find one, and want one that badly, you can get them from 3-4" and that would be ok with the oscar for a fair while if its 12"

i think ill wait till I have the 80 for gulpers alone
