I finally found some tiny Gulper Catfish and bought a few. I would have bought all that Dr. Mark Chen @ Discus Origins had if I'd realized how much I liked them already. They are about 1.5-2" in length. They are active while the lights are on,and even more so at night. They school 90%+ of the time, always swimming, either by just treading water or actually moving around the tank. They are in a 40 gallon breeder tank for now. I have ph right at 6.3(after alot of tinkering) and the hardness pretty low as well. I got the water right with rain water, peat moss, and oak/oak leaves combined in a plastic barrel outside. They ate within an hour out of the shipping container. Their squabbly personality with each other, combined with a relatively small size as adults makes them really neat to own. IMO. From what I've read, they have a pretty good lifespan as well. I'm really happy with them so far. Money well spent, and would recommend them as a cool inhabitants of a species only tank. Thanks.
