Right before going to work this morning I turned the lights on and notice the tailfin of my large male gulper sticking up through a hole in my driftwood
I have two large pieces of driftwood in my 210g. One is long and smooth and the other has lots of sharp edges that I have always worried about along with some holes in it. I never worried about the holes though.
His fins were keeping him from backing out of the hole and the more he struggled the deeper he got into the driftwood. The top of the tank is 6ft tall on the stand so it was impossible for me to help him inside the tank. So I ended up pulling the driftwood out of my tank. I was able to push his fins to his sides and pull him out through the top.
I think he will be ok, just looks like he swam through thorn bushes, he is pretty beat up looking now
But Im glad he is alive
I will only have the smooth driftwood in the tank now, the other piece is not gulper safe lol
pics of the tank....
