So I’ve had a gulper for about two weeks now. It ate once the day after I got it. It ate some fish fillets from fresh fish I caught. The fillets were examined before feeding. I’ve been feeding most of my carnivorous fish this for the past few years. So I know with close examination before feeding it should be fine. I was wondering if gulper just don’t eat as often as other fish do. I’ve looked into this and can’t find anything on it so I thought here I should be able to get a response or two

I'd still freeze your catches properly to kill off all parasites, including microscopic, and feed the caught fish whole, not just fillets, or if too big, cut into proper pieces. Gulper needs a balanced and complete nutritional package, which comes with a whole fish diet, guts, head, bones, scales, skin, and all.

I'd also check the water with an API liquid test kit, also the hardness and TDS.

If the fillets were huge, I imagine the gulper might still be digesting. It too might still be adjusting to its new home and water.

Also, I'd do a search in the Catfish section and read the hits. Gulper feeding questions come up often.
