Mine eats white fish fillet, supermarket prawns and occasionaly whitebait. As they are all sea food I soak them under a running tap to assist taking all excess iodine away.
Mine sulked to start and wouldn't eat at all for the first 3 weeks. I was pretty concerned so much so that it is the first time that I have ever offered feeders which I then took out pretty quickly as dont like feeding live fish. Learnt my lesson as the fella came down with whitespot!!!!
I used one of those thin perspex Now he is at the top of the tank as soon as I open the lid.
Just persevere and he will come around.
DrZ has a Gulper as well
 
Ive had it for about a month now and it has lost alot of size.BUT he ate a raw shrimp tonite. Finally- 1st good meal since i owned him.Thanks for the info DJC776.Ill try some of those different foods
 
gulpers are interesting fish haha. mine eats anything from my hand and NO TANKMATES unless they are same size or bigget catfish. He liked my Limas but not the others. He is in a 20G right now as he is about 4" now. He has two crayfish to clean up after him. The gulper eats fresh shrimp, fish (variety as you can see), carnivore pellets and krill. IMHO the krill is a awesome food for this fish, mine has colored up a lot since I first fed him krill.
 
I have one for a few months now. It just started taking food from my hand 3 weeks ago.
