are guppies good feeders? I know that goldfish are bad due to thiamine and all that but what about guppies? Do they have any nutritional value and all that? Just wondering since i jumped into getting a bunch of breeding guppies so i can have constant flow of feeders every month or so

they work just find but frozen/dried foods are a lot less work... polys will eat prettymuch whatever..

Nothing wrong with them as a treat, but I wouldn't use them as a staple. Definitely healthier than goldfish.

There's a difference between thiamine and thiaminase. Don't confuse the two. Thiaminase is what you should be watching out for.

Cholly is right on the other hand. Guppies are a much better choice for food than goldfish. Less fats and thiaminase content.
