I just set up a 15g column in my man cave to breed guppies as feeders. I'm tired of buying 200 goldfish a week. I got 3 females and 8 males. Is there anything special I have to do in order for them to pump out some babies or do I just sit back and let the magic happen? Any advice is appreciated

Well...the good news is, there's not much you can do to STOP guppies from breeding. Lol. Bad news though, is that 3 females in a 15 gallon tank is not gonna make up for 200 goldfish a week.

That ratio may be off. I'm pretty sure you want 1 male guppy to 2 female guppies to avoid aggression. Best of luck!

Make it 1 male to 3

Delay water changes, guppies can take quite high nitrates , then a sudden 80% water change will imm cause most of the females to release .
But yeah 200 goldfish replacement not happening.

Buy tilapia fingerlings from a farm.

Ime guppy mothers will eat the fry 9/10 times get a breeding trap. You could also try mollies and convicts theyve got more meat then guppies

Either will but you will want a divider for the male and female convicts theyre reakly aggressive at breeding time I go with mollies in a column
