I'm not really sure if I'm in the right place for this question, but I have a batch of young guppies and I'm having trouble figuring out if some of them are male or female. Now, before I get answers about HOW to tell them apart, I do know how to do that. I've already separated out the ones that are beyond a doubt female. But some of the ones that I thought were male aren't developing the longer gonopodium fin that they typically have. But, I can't see any eggs or gravid spot in them either. Could it be that these are just slower in developing & haven't quite developed the longer fin typical of the males? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

get out a magnifying glass n check

What I failed to mention in my first post was that they are old enough now that there shouldn't be a question about it. Several of the brothers from this same batch are almost fully developed with their fin and body colors. The ones in question haven't developed as quickly as the others. Is this normal?

it happens at times.
keep the ones seperate about which u have a doubt to avoid unwanted breeding.

If they show undesirable traits, cull they. Don't what to risk spoiling the good ones you already have.
