Guppy Maintenance

Hi All!
I need someone to tell me how to how to maintain my guppies. They all die, and I think they kill each other too? I bought 5 now, and within 3 days, they're all dead.
The water temp is about 26.
What could be the problem?

While a few of our members may have guppies, you may not get a huge response. If your questions aren't answered here check out our sister site www.aquariacentral.com. They have a lot more members that keep mini fish

That said, the first thing you'll need to do is test your water for high levels of ammonia or nitrite. When the test results come in we'll be able to help a little more.

Most guppies these days are very unhardy due to mass production in controlled environments.

Ask where your LFS is getting thee guppies? A local breeder will have much hardier guppies that adapt better to your water quality.

Also.. do you use aquarium salt?

I have a community tank with primarily guppies and don't have any problems.

How long has your tank been setup? How is it planted? What size is it? etc.... Give us some more details so we can help.
