india
in one of my wussy tanks
i have a pair of guppies
now i grew them from a pretty small size
actually the female came along with a few plants i got from the lfs
so i got a male for her
now the female has got huge
and this is her first time spawning an' all
and i saw 2 fry in the tank and while i was looking the female went right at one of the fry and ate it :eek::eek:
there are just a few cories int he tank along with a few snails
now is this normal or something wrong with this crappy mother guppy

hornwort (well the stuff that was sold to me as hornwort anyway) and java moss seem to work good for the fry to hide in.

java moss works well too. also i seen someone build a structure out of small pebbles, using silicone, and the holes were big enough for fry but not big enough for the parents. it was a good idea.

Normal...

More plants, etc. for cover for the fry will help, if you want to keep 'em

i have lots of plants in the tank
i was just thinking may be the fish was lacking soem viatmins or something for it to cannibalize its young
so after reading your posts i get the idea that they are just not good parents as many others
thank you

Nah, guppies are very prolific creatures... kinda like the aquarium version of cockroaches. I guess this is just nature's way of keeping them from taking over the world.
