Took this video today before work today. These guys ate 100 guppies before I could eat 1/2 a poboy, lol. The Guyanas were just an inch or so when I got them and are between 3.5 to 4.25 inches and Kelberi is about 4 inches. Had to take kelberi out of my 240 to be safe and this sucker is now eating everything, he even ate FLAKES last night. However the Guyana Occelaris barely eat frozen foods, they only want live and seem to be the hardest to ween as of yet for me. All my BIGGER Cichla are on to some type nof prepared food. I'm starting to try cut market shrimp now too and pla. Of getting some tilapia over the weekend to try. Does anyone think it is odd that the kelberi will eat ALL forms of prepared foods including flakes and pellets, but Guyanas won't in same tank?

To be honest, I have 9 different types of Cichla at the moment and even though they are young and not as expensive as the RARE stuff I think the Guyanna Occelaris from Snookn are going to be stunners! They seem very vibrant in comparison to my other species when they were that size. Hard to tell from this crappy Droid vid, but I will use HD next time I update these guys.

Just because Occels are not as expensive as some Xingu might be does not mean they cannot be as impressive!

Look at Hulons Occel - i'd take that big fat monster any day over a rare 10" juvie xingu

Nice cichla man! My guyanas are about the same size too.

I just wish the guyanas would eat anything like the kelberi. A switch must have went off internally because all of a sudden that kelberi eats ANYTHING and EVERYTHING now, but guyanas are picky. I'm hoping they mimic the kelberi and start taking pellets too.
