TFD has a ray on there list as "guyana ray" what exactly is this. Is it basically a retic? Does anybody know there size and hardyness?

thanks in advanced.

Mike

I had a couple that i got from a lfs, they were labled guyana rays, when they came in it was a humersa ray, and they died within having them for a day, wouldnt eat anything, I tried saving them because they looked so skinny, LFS went through 4 more trying to replace one, and they couldnt get them to eat anything, IMO not very hardy

TFD sells humerosa under the name guyana they get arround 20" disk and are pretty hardy...

The local wholesaler in town has Guyana rays all the time. They tend to be humeros/Orbs. Majority of the time they are larger and in much better condition then retics and cost less then $10 more wholesale. My LFS sells them for $60.

Well, If they look like the on in the picture, I really like them, wish i had more tank space!!! This is actually for a friend of mine, just helping him out on research.

thanks,
Mike

yea, thats what they look like.... the ones i tried to save were even skinnier.... I felt so bad...

Most "guyana" are Orbignyi or Humerosa, No? .. I got some Peruvian rays mislabeled 'laticeps' that looked somewhat like these too..

Max size 18-22"??
