Gymnallabes typus-eel catfish

just got these guys. they are in a clarius (walking catfish family), but very stretched out.
actually, i've order Chanallabes apus, but when i got the box, they turned out to be Gymnallabes typus.

i got 5 of these guys today. very excited.

i heard those are venomous? i could be wrong though. nice cats btw!
 
i got them for only 7euros each. still, i am going to be on a lookout for chanallabes, as i have heard those guys can hunt on land
 
they are not venomous. it think it is only H. fossilis that is venomous in that family
 
Clarias are poisonous,too. Cool fish man :)

This is true,the venom is more toxic on liver\Stinging cats that's all. Once had a mate spend several days in hospital when he was stabbed by the pectoral fin of C.batrachus, it pierced his thumb and his all arm ballooned and turned black......not nice!
 
i did not know that. i thought that Clarius were industrial fish. how do they handle them when they are farmed for food?
 
Very nice fish, used to have one years ago that would hand feed.
