well i was watching my gymno quillero today and noticed two of my bigger 1.5" almost lip locking, and swimming sided by side shaking tails and vibrating near each other. could this be two males trying to establish the dominant male is this to early to notice this.

Probably. I wouldnt even sweat it......

thanks rob ya i wasnt worried i just found it interesting that at such a small size they are doing this its awsome

Yeah it is kinda cute. But you know, theyre gymnos, and Ive never seen a gymno do any kind of damage..... Fun to watch though....

o ya not lookin for them to be glass bangers lol just enjoy how the group acts with each other as they establish a pecking order

thats the best part about all harem type of fish is watching thier behavior within their groups. post some pics or make a movie! share the wealth!!

ugh i would love to get good pics ive had pics of the tank and fish on here but me and my camera well....we dont work well together i cant ever get good clear pics that show size and the fish coloring up

How many quilero do you have? What size tank? I tried to keep 2M and 3F and the 2 males fought constantly. I had to seperate then or one was going to get killed. I since got 6 more and now don't have any issues other then the normal squabbles. If you only have 2 males depending upon the tank size you could have some issues. Gymno's can be pretty tough on each other despite there calm reputation. They do not really pick on other fish but males can be really nasty to there own kind.
