I found a site that sold e cats at a good price, but they need a $40 purchase minimum. The great humps on these things caught my eye, and figured these would be good to make the price. gap I only no they are a type of eartheater, can grow to 8" and males have cooler humps.
Give be any info you got:D . Will they work with juvie convicts (0.75-1")

I think they will leave the cons alone. My Red Tapajos is with some barbs, they are fine together.

gymnogeos are more of temperate water fish, so leave the tank in a cool room other then that they are relatively easy to care for but may require a cooling off period if you want them to spawn.

Yeah they are great fish i've got a 5inch male one in with my other types of Geophagus and some metynnis, go for it!

i am mainly interested in the naturaly large hump. can i see a pic of your male? should i pick up a female too, for possible breeding chances, or is it that the cances are bad enough that i should stick with the males fo looks (I am not an experinced breeder)

Bogwoodbruce,

Nice balzani! It looks like a very nice female to me. I will post my breeding pair when I have a chance.

IMO, they are more sensitive to water quality than other gymnogeos and they fade quickly if they get stressed out.

yea i jus picked one up the other day...i had another one b4 but i put coppersafe in the takn and it died...the new one i picked up is in bad shape..it hasnt eaten yet and its fins are in bad shape...u think melafix will mess it up?
