Hello Everyone

Two days ago my pair of Gymnogeophagus Iporangensis layed eggs on back glass of 165g tank behind the driftwood and now they are guarding their eggs really good. I tryed to find some more information about these species with poor results.

I looking for some advice on raising fry, little more info about breeding behavior and for how long fry should stay with their parents.

I have experience with raising Green Severum and Geophagus Juraparii fry.

Did anybody try to breed them?

My biggest concern is they laid eggs just inches from FX5 inlet.
I will have to relocate the inlet or just turn FX5 off for couple of days.

Put a piece of panty hose, fry saver sponge, or sponge filter over the inlet valve to protect the fry from getting sucked up.

The genus is Geophagus, not Gymnogeophagus, isn't it?
