Thanks.

someone with more experience with these guys will give you some great advice there are awesome geo tanks on here but make sure you do your research, read AS MUCH AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN, these guys are not like regular cichlids, they must be kept in groups and so need nice big tanks, GOOD LUCK on your venture though

I have 3 species of gymnos and of them the gymnogyn is the most colorful. More specifically mine is known as the arroyo yerbolita. It's really shiny and prismatic almost to the point of being gaudy.

i have 1 geophagus surinamensis and 2 geophagus tapajos and my surinam has some stunning streamers. IMHO i would get some red heads and surinams. i love them.

The OP asked about Gymnogeophagus.....and you don't have a surinamensis. You have a dicrozoster.

All the juvi gymnogeos I've seen are pretty bland. My personal favorite is the labiatus complex. I love there humped head and they are very colorful.

btw I agree that jerzyperson's geo is a dicrozoster.

hmm, then ken sold me the wrong fish. there suppose to be surinamensis.

and sorry misread, thought it say geo not gymno.
