Hello everyone,
I just wanted to make my first post and say hello. While having kept several large freshwater fish species, I currently only have one " Monster fish." Gymnothorax favagineus. I have had this particular eel for... around 5 years now. A voracious predator, the eel will take anything from tuna or salmon steaks to 4 inch long domino damsels. I actually acquired this eel while living in Atlanta. I worked at a local store there in Buckhead and someone brought this bucket in and dropped it at my feet. Cursing, the customer stated that he was done with the fish and didnt want her anymore. I was curious... so I asked what the moray had done. Apparently it had eaten his 3.5 in Balistapus undulatus. This was not the first trigger it had dragged under a rock and swallowed. So, long story short, Sophia now lives in a custom 90 gallon alone. She is 4 feet in length and is definately a beast.
I will try to post pics soon!
