Yup I'm new here, forgive my ignorance. I purchased a freshwater moray- GYMNOTHORAX TILE about a month ago from my lfs, after doing plenty of research and realizing he is not a freshwater eel. He is in my 55 gallon (brackish now?) along with a 6 inch lionfish (toadfish) and two needle nose. As far as i know he has been eating fine as i cannot keep guppies or ghost shrimp in the tank. But my concern is that i noticed he has a small whitish peice of something coming out of his gill hole, yup i said gill hole- call it what you want but i'm goin with gill hole. also seems like the shin around it is shrinking, the hole on the other side appears fine but doesnt seem to be opening as often. Please help if you have had any issues like this, and small words please - i'm a soldier, lol

Correction now, one gill hole is completely closed up and the other looks like it is struggling, white gunk still seems to be forming on edges of the gill hole that is still functioning - - - help - - -
