I have brought a tile over the christmas period and simply it wont eat.

it was eating fine at the shop and even with the same food it wont eat in its new tank.

its currently in a 50gal fw tank (yes i do know its brackish) i was hoping to get it feeding before i started messing with the water perameters so far it has 0 ammnia 0 nite <20 nate it is in mdeium hard water .he has plenty of caves and poke his head ou to say hello every so often , i got him 9 days ago and his last feed was just before we took him out the tank. the shop water conditions are very similar to mine too so no ph shock.

should i try live fodd if so what?? i noticed a few of u have tiles on here what are your experiances . would it be better to get his water hard and start bringing up the salinity now rather than later

try to see if it accepts feeders, and once it is acclimated to your tank, start the move to brackish

what would u recomend for feeders???

and also i am now getting told it is a marine fish not brackish .

also how long do u think he will be able to survive without food? he was defenatly eating at the shop i actually asked to see him feeding .

for live foods, try with some ghost shrimp or even feeder fish if you have no other choice. I've never had a G. tile that eats any worms at all.

ok thanks for the advise i put 2 ember tetras in there last night but they were still there his morning

i get the salt today so will start to slowly boost his salinity hopfully that will get him to feed

We have a resident eel expert at my site: Corvus. PM him over there.

Wonderful! He'll eventually require very high-end BW/SW conditions. Keep raising it.
