got these as Tiger knife but i doubt it is G.tigre after some research.

it looks pretty similar to G.varzea (http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/gymnotus/photogymnotus28.htm). anyone here can help to confirm the ID of this species?

thanks for the info.

im not worried of them feeding on small species. seems like now i cant keep them with my bigger species of fishes instead.
 
i was told this is a G.stenoleucus instead.

was planning to keep them with some bichirs, gars n catfish once they get bigger if they r G.tigre. but seems like i have to leave them in the 2 footer for good.
