Anyone have any experience with the gymnotus javari, im looking into purchasing a juvenile for my 36 gallon (36x12x18) south American tank containing peaceful bottom dwellers and a singular EBA. My PH ranges from 6.4-7.2 and contains java fern, anubias, and water lettuce.

Whilst knifes are extremely manouverable they still can be quite active. My main concern without knowing the fish list (am assuming your not going to tell us dwarf Cory or something tiny and really peaceful) and of course a fish that can be a real ass or a saint (the eba) is the tank size, I just think that even for just one potentially eight inch knife 36x12x18 might be pushing it a bit. They can be surprisingly active but if bought small and settled in and grown on, they do not like change and do like confined spaces so you may be ok.
