H. Carpintis Vontehillo age progression/sex?

I got this lil guy from Ira on April 19 at about 2 inches. He's now about 4 1/2 inches or so. He is also about 3/4 -1 in thick. Eats like a champ. What do you guys think? Also I keep calling it a him but I dont know how to sex them. Any input would be great thanx.
The first pic is from 4/20.
Second pic is from 6/8.
Third and fourth pic is from 7/13. Still has alot of growing to do.

Looks Male to me. And I would say he is growing pretty well. about and 3/4 of an inch a month seems pretty well.
 
looks great! I know he looks better in person too because these fish are IMPOSSIBLE to shoot pictures of (at least that do them justice and represent what they really look like). Good growth rate as well.

looks good but i think its female cuz the fins are rounded at the ends usaly males will have a little bit more of extensions at that size...

As far as sexing these, don't females typically have a black spot up on there dorsal? I kind of thought it was a male too, but again its fins were kind of rounded off. I agree, I usually see sharper fins on males too. I have a couple little carpintis at home too and they are about 2". I think they are both male as well. They look a lot like yours. I hope they keep looking like yours. What type of fish food do you use?
