Has anyone successfully kept these two species in the same tank. I have a 7x2x2 tank with a 18 inch leichardti curently residing. I was wondering if I can add an afro (african arapaima) at 20 inches from another tank to the same tank as the leichardti.
Thanks

I hate you EddieMunster lol, I'd kill for a 20" african aro....

lol, I've only ever seen babies for sale once in Canada...

I tried that combo and it didn't work out for me. The African Aro beat up the Lei pretty good. My African Aro is 23" and the Lei was 16". I didn't think an African Aro would be that aggressive but found out they are. I even tried putting it with a Jardini that was 14" and the Jardini got beat up as well. Just be careful and keep watch for any fighting.

Once you get them to 6 inches and feeding well, they grow pretty fast.
P.S. Don't hate me cause I'm beautiful.
