anyone use handle on demand to move large aquariums or any other vacuum suction thingy?
if so what brand, make, model, price and what size and weight aquarium did you move/lift.

would anyone recommend using this tool for 200+ lb tanks?
also if you used say 4 of them would that somewhat reduce the weight per handle provided they all be lifted at the same time?
would it put too much stress on the silicone seals and you'd be left with just one side of the aquarium stuck to the hod while the other parts fell off?

I've never done it but have seen many threads over the years from others who have. Not sure what brands they've used but those who have this type of handle all seemed to recommend it.

I think the real question I would want to know is how do tanks react when being lifted from the side panels vs. being supported from the bottom. That's what would concern me. I can assure you those handles are pretty strong. We use them as a handle when we dive to pull ourselves into the boat.

My weight = 200 lbs.
Tech dive gear (double tanks, drysuit, harness, etc) = 150 lbs. at least

So figure they're good for 350 lbs. per handle. To be on the safe side I'd divide it in 2 and allow 175 lbs. per handle.

A 200# tank will hold 1500#+ of water, figure 2 people will use 2 grips each a presumably they'll be on the front and back leaving the sides and bottom or only half the weight unsupported. I'm sure you're going to be fine.

I have never had experience with that product, always use the old fashioned way and on a tank that size usually 4 strong guys. One misque could mean disaster, and oops is not a good thing when handling glass. :)
