Any opinions on the best hang on tank protein skimmer? Looking for a 55 gallon set up lite stocking with softies and a few fish. Only heavy bio-load will be 2 small eels. I've been looking at Reef Octopus and Aqua C Remoras. I'm not opposed to used either, so fire away if you looking to unload one. Mr. Reef please chime in cause you seem to always have good advice. Thanks.

Well, everything I have read said nothing but how great the Remora was and how it was pretty much the best thing since sliced bread. Sooooo long story short I ordered the Remora 1200 w/ drain fitting and the surface skimmer box. I'll let you know how it turns out.
i got the maxi jet 1200 very good flow, no i dident get the surface skimmer box, i dont have a really heavy fish load so i decided not to get it, also i beleive you have to watch the tank level so it wont get too low with that option. If you get the one with the drain fitting just beware it does not come with a plug to plug up the hole if you decide you dont want to run a line to an external collection cup. Aqua-c does provisde these plugs free of charge thru thier website.
Good to know about the plug, thanks! I figured I would have to rig something up like a shut off valve in the line. I go out of town from time to time though so the drain was kind of a must.
