While two of my H. psittacus are going at it for the first time today. Nothing dramatic - they just take their positions and start to lip lock for a minute or two, then separate. They are similar in size (just over 4") and both of them are supposed to be females. The other two (one bigger and one smaller) just watch and aren't very interested.

Should I be worried? Has anybody's H. psittacus killed each other?

might wanna be careful. from what i've heard they're pretty hard to sex so they may not both be females. they are know to get aggressive so i'd watch out to make sure nothing serious happens. the guy i purchased mine from just recently had his male eat the crap out of his female who are usually housed together.

Thanks guys. I don't feed fish on Mondays and that might have something to do with it?? Will keep an eye on it.

jgentry - we'll see if they can stay together that long :). I'm going to pick up the orange heads this weekend.:nilly:
