Ok well I had a stupid floating thermometer and I was misreading it, and for the last little while and I just got a digital hagen thermometer with probe and instead of keeping the water around 76 it was around 86 with my fish showing no signs of distress.

So now I am letting the temp slowly drop to around 78*F...

Do you guys think everything will be fine? or have I done some kind of damage to my fish?

What type of fish do you have?? Many fish can stand that temp for a long time, some thrive in it, and some need warmer temps.

I have an Oscar, Convict, Leopard Ctenopoma, 3 RH's, 6 Apollos and 1 common pleco in it

ok thanks guys!!!

Yeah I don't see that as problematic. If it were, I would think you'd start seeing signs of stress externally if anything.
