So this morn my fiance text me to tell me thats the jade goby we bought for her father about 7 months ago had died. She said he fed the fish and he ate and was fine and this morn he found him dead. This fish liked to move rocks all over the tank so I'm thinking he may have choked on rocks. This fish was in freshwater although ppl say they need brackish but this fish was thriving. I bought him for her father at about 4 1/2 inches and at the time of death he was all of 9 or 10 inches and a big fat boy. He ate out of ur hand and loved when you walked up to the tank. My plan is to buy him something this weekend and he doesnt want another goby cuz he like his too much and doesnt wanna replace it with another. He has a 55 gallon with a parrot fish and a african knife fish. I wanna get him something with personality and that can live in the 55 for life. Any ideas would be great.
Had a loss in the fish fam and need ideas on a replacement?

the clown knife wil get to big for that tank. so upgrade for the CK and after you do get him a severum
Clown knife fish will usually get around 18 inches in capitivity and grow to about 36 inches in the wild. You may need an upgrade of tank for the CK.
As far as the fish to replace the Jade Green Goby, well I do feel that the Severum, suggested by livebearerfreek is a good idea. Another suggestion might be to replace it with a Nicaragua Cichlid.

idk where ppl are getting that he has a ck in his tank. I have a clown knife in my tank and I have a 150 gallon. This isnt about my fish
