Been a long time since I last posted. Im more of a lurker than a poster. But anyway, a few weeks back my 110 tall tank had a fire and decided to "renovate" the dining room. lol. All is well, and it was a close one. But now I have to replace all the tank accessories as well as some new tank buddies for Goliath (jeweled moray eel). Some of the new stuff so far has been 2 korallia evo 1400s for water movement, a new bubble magus skimmer. The BM is a new item for me, but generally the reviews have been good by numerous peeps, so we will see. Also, lighting has been re-addressed with T5 lights by sunlight supply(teklight series). That gem is the 8 bulb behemoth that sould give some great coloration as well as coverage for the coral dept. I will try to get some pics up soon.

^^ haha def not. was it the wiring that caused it? or some saltwater that dripped on a plug? I know Ive had some salt (dried spill) on a plug and thar s@#t started smokin instantly when I plugged it in.

Did they roast smores and hot dogs? But seriously can you explain "had a fire", did the plugs cause it or something else?

sorry so long to post, been busy with work and renovating. The fire was due to moisture accumulating on the powerstrip after so many years. the GFCI did trip but the power didnt go anywhere and just heated up until flames and smoke were the joke of the day! Nearly ished myself. anyway, I am going to be more careful with wiping down all surfaces behind the tank to get saltcreep or moisture out of there. I told the fire inspector that a drip loop was used and he said "don't matter", just accumulates over time and randomly just starts a fire. Be sooo careful guys and gals.

hate to hear it, i will try to replace my power strips every couple years just to keep things like that from happening
