Game laws must be different in Canada.

Do you have a chiller on your tank?

Small mouth bass do better at temps under 65, and few homes are kept that cold. There is a reason why you can't catch them is really shallow waters....shallow water is too warm for them. Yes they can survive room temperature water, but will need cooler water to thrive.

SMB will do fine without a chiller which is an unnecessary expenditure. They thrive outside their native ranges in temps well into the mid 80's during the summer and in some places year round. I would hardly call Mexico, Vietnam, Guam, Hawaii, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Swaziland, Mauritius and Belize where they have been introduced as cool temperate climates with water temps 65* and below.

I concur on the game laws, an 8 in New York is a throw back. That bigger bass is nice, over 4 lbs I'm not seeing, but a good fish either way. You puting the SMB in w LMB?

:screwy: Yeah thats why they thrive in lakes that hit 80s in the summer, like say in cali.
