Hi all, I recently purchased a new Hagen Aquaclear 70 (formerly known as 300) for the first time in many years.
I was surprised to see that they cut away some plastic at the part of the casing where the U-tube sits (which doesn't really affect anything, it looks like they just saved some on materials), and the U-tube doesn't sit securely in the casing over the impeller anymore. it floats and is very loose. it should be snug.
the old ones weren't like this.
anyone else notice this change? very weird.
its been many years since I bought a new AC70 (I have been running only 110s only for the last few years and my old AC300s I sold when I sold my smaller tanks).
I am pretty dissapointed. how long have they been like this? or do I have a defective U-tube part? bent maybe?
