so I've started this project a looong time ago....

and just last week i purchased an ro filter...i tried desperately without one....just thought the ro was the missing link.....she was gravid.

so long story short, i came home from work, started draining my tank, about to set the ro goin' (it's the fifth day of their monsoon week), and i see a little baby pleco!
haha, so....I'm pretty sure the eggs take a while to hatch, so they must've actually bred sometime right before i ordered the ro filter!

what the hell. i looked in the cave, and sure enough, there's a bunch of baby L134, can't tell how many. there is one though, on the other side of the 75 gallon tank, that is chillin right by the intake filter(it is spunged) right by the 5-6 inch royal i have. and the royal is cool with it! the royal even tries to shove out the small L182 when they get too close, but this little fish is being put up with by the royal....

should i move the little guy back into the cave?
i'd rather let it explore, good for him, for escaping the cave, i'm pretty sure it'll be able to find food over by the filter intake, it can always just get on the sponge and eat something.

so what do i do for food?

i've got algae wafers, mysis shrimp...and i feed them all kinds of vegetables, especially sweet potato, green lettuce, and zuchini. they will probably eat zuchini, right?

waht i found out for my longfin albino bristlenost plecos is taht the male keeps them in the cave for a long time, more than it takes for their egg sac to dissapear, but they soon come out when they need to eat. i dont even have my filter sponged, but its only a 125 cuz its a 10g tank, feed em the hickory algae wafers they are great, i put cucumber in one corner and wafers in another, and i found out they like wafers sooo much better. plus the wafers dont pollute as much, so stick with em.

Congrats on the babies! I just had my first bushy nose pleco babies! My Plecos like the Salt/sugar-Free Canned Green Beans split open! :)

never heard of feeding them canned beans before, I'll have to try it. the problem is, i have them in a 75, so im gonna go get a breeding box tomorrow....its so crazy that my royal is hanging out with the baby! i saw the baby hiding under him earlier!

hahahahahaha

Congrats on the babies!!!

Try feeding frozen french cut green beans, they are easy to keep in the freezer vs. an open can in the fridge. They last longer in the tank also.

yeah, thanks all.

i took them out of the cave today. and put them in a breeder box. im afraid my 6-7 inch lemon spotted pleco will eat them....he eats everything.
man, the dad was absolutely pissed.

You lucky devil! I'm still waiting for my zebras to breed, congrats!

What type of plecs are these?
Congrats!!!
