Hey my names Justin and im from northern virgnia. found this site while googling for info awhile back and have been lurking as a guest and decided it was time to get a little more personal and possibly pick some mind's.
A little info about my self first though. I currently work construction and attend school for a bach degree in IT network security and design. With that finished in about 6 months ill be getting married shortly after and then joining the Coast Guard. I will be using the experience in construction and my father's company to hopefully build my house on a nice piece of real estate on the potomac or the Bay around here. i have around 15 years in the hobby of keeping fish and i look forward to finally having my own house with my very supportive wife and to finally have my "man cave". it will definately be the pride of the house for me.
plans include my shark tank and a reef tank directly across from my bar and also happen to be the reasons i came to the website. im a huge thinker and i have a habit of planning everything to minute detail which tends to be a good thing especially for situations like this. some quick dimensions right now are looking at 8 x 3 x 3 for the reef tank and will be around 540 gallon pre rock and sand adjustments. the sump will be a 150 gallon rubber maid container( the nice stiff black ones with that handy drain at the bottom already built in). the shark tank will be around 25 x 10 x 5 to equal around 9350.
other hobbies besides keeping my saltwater fish would include snowboarding deep sea and sport fishing drag racing cars and just about anything else that is fun.
the reasoning behind my name for the curious folk is because i intend to build most of the parts and the tanks them selves that i described above as well as some of the things in the house time providing. i plan to keep smooth hound sharks at this point in the plan so this is what is behind the name.
