bubble algae is a bit different, this stuff ahs sulfur something in it, (or something sulfur) i dont remember exactly, but i know it tastes horrible, (according to my freinds) and it tends to melt the teeth of fish and snails.

how big is the tank? is the algae on more than one rock? you could leave the one rock out to dry then boil then return to the tank if it is a large system.
also if it is big you could get a yellow tang.

its only a 20 long, and its on a few peices of rock, some of them quite large, and 2 of them are actually the "base" peices, meaning they are actually touching the glass, and not resting on the substrate.

what fish? what lighting?? because you could cook it off with the lights if they are crazy strong. or go the invert route my friends emerald crab ate all the hair out of his 35 gallon tank.

A yellow Tangwill take care of the problem.

Having something eat it does not take care of the problem. Its usually caused by lack of flow and an abundance of nutrients. Are you using RO water? What are you using for flow and circulation. Skimmer? You could also look into getting a phosban reactor to remove your phosphates

i am using r/o water, but i usually top off with tap water, sometimes ill use distilled or ro to top off. there is quite a bit off flow in the tank, its a 20 gallon tank, and the filter does about 110 gallons an hr, with one power head doing 119 gph, and the other 110 gph. the tank dosnt get fed that much, the nitrites never go up past 20 ppm, (umm the last one in the cycle, i think its nitrites, ) and it gets at least 3 to 4 new gallons of fw a week, and water change every 2 weeks. all the corals are doing great, and so are all the inverts. a tang is out of the question, aside from the fact that its a 20, it is that sulfur bassed algae that burns the fish's mouth. i think im gonna go with some phosphor remover, and purigen, possibly som carbon for a bit just to really get rid of any exsess nutrients.
