im having trouble fattening this guy..
hes so thin....
what should i feed it? im feeding it assorted floating pellets now. and occasionally meal worms.

Beef heart is a good way to fatten your fish up. How long have you had this fish??? It may have worms of a bacterial infection.

he really dosnt look so hot. i'd be worried about him.

man this is wat to do beefheart and some krill and some other frozen... and try some ghost shrimp or live just to get him bigger

whats your water quality like is he alone or is there other fish in the tank if so is he getting bullied. Is he taking food at all and try to find out what he was fed before you got him.The most important to start with is water quality

i would wager that he probably has internal parasites. is his feces white and stringy. if so id go with some metronidazole/clout. it worked wonders for me in the past and just pulled through again on a couple of f0 festaes i got from rapps. if he is still eating then you shouldnt have a very hard time. treat by the directions on the package and continue to feed and within a few weeks time you will notice a MAJOR difference in his vitality. he should fatten up on pellets or frozen either way. the fact that it isnt getting much nutrition and its still eating leads me to believe its internal parasites. give that a try and keep us posted!!!!

I have three baby haitians and they eat: flake, cichlid pellets, frozen foods of all varieties, algae wafers and real veggeis. They have doubled in size in about three months.
It vertainly wouldn't hurt to treat for parasites. Metronidozole is a good Tx.
