with 5 you might get lucky and get a breeding pair out of them. But first you need to worry about getting them to breeding size. they are very delicate at that size and often end up bloated and dead. Please research if you have not done so yet.
The price seems very fair to me as well

hopefully i can get a breeding pair out of the bunch, as for the bloat and general care ill try and get them on a mostly spirilina brine shrimp diet until there of size

yeah ill have to make sure they have cover incase anyone gets too aggressive

I worked with haitiensus for about 5 years, had some failures, had some more success once I figured their needs out.
If it were me, I'd divide the 180 into 5 separate compartments, 1 individual in each compartment, and each with its own cave. I believe 1 haitiensus can drive another into a stress related death, just by intimidation.
If you end up with 2 females, put a male on each side of her compartment, and in the end, let her choose her mate, it will be obvious.
Keep temps warm, mid 80s. (see the article below)
They are omnivores, don't go overboard on high protein, I believe plant matter (Spirulina pellets,) help purge and clean out the gut.
Don't put them together until its very obvious
Oh, Island in the Sun. The Dominican Republic by Alf ...https://cichlidae.com › article
One minor bit of semantics, they are not South American, the island of Hispaniola is considered part of North America, so Centrl American would be more correct
