In a tiny reef
Ive been lurking around, no user name, just chillin, (i have a few pbass, tigerfish, an african aro, american eel, bunch of monsters and i like to stay in touch with what comes in through the classifieds on here), but my real passion is pushing the size extremes of reefing.

Introducing *drum roll please*.............

HALF GALLON (8"x4"x4") PICO REEF

Lighting - 9 watt PC fixture (the JBJ Picotope stock light)
Circulation - Redsea Nano filter (painted black and dremeled apart)
Heating - Hydor heating pad hooked up to a variable resistor and a timer
Other - Gravity fed ATO, the key to the tank (without it i loose over 1/8th of the tank in one day, talk about salinity swings)

Stock:
1 Green Hammer coral
1 Aussie pink hammer
1 Green Duncan
1 Red Acan
1 Eucenia/Murcia Gorgonian (photosynthetic)
1 Chalice coral
4-5 Ricordia Yuma
2 Montipora Varieties (feelers, i plan on Acro in this tank so i needed to test it first)

Fish:
Juvenile Cubicus Boxfish (named Kix), just over 1cm big right now, when he doubles in size ill replace him with a trimma goby and he'll move to one of the 75s or something (im fully aware of this fish's husbandry and potential toxicity and size) he doesnt impact the params on this tank at all and i cant see effectivly maintaing him in anything bigger (he gets lost even in this tank)

the tank is just as stable as my larger 75 gallon reefs and even more stable than my 2.5 gallon, i over engineered the $#!T out of it. i maintain calc/alk/mag ect. with biweekly water changes, but as more SPS corals and possibly a dersea clam are added i may have to up it to tri weekly or possibly even begin dosing.....*cringe*

to my surprise this tank turned out far easier to care for than my past marine tanks (5.5 Gallon Non-Photosynthetic reef and 2.5 Gallon Dendrophyllia and Frogfish pico) and it seems to be easier even than my 75 gallon SPS system.

Enough Jabberjawing, enjoy the pics, and feel free to flame/question away, im glad to clarify anything you may need to ask.

i hope you like :)
