I have a dream of building an outdoor pond but build it up a little and put glass as one of the sides like a tank so its a pond....AND you can see into like a tank from one of the sides.

Anyone do this? Can anyone show me pictures of one you've seen (or a website with pictures)?

and I live in seattle so weather ranges from 15 Degrees F. to 95 degrees F. (those are extreme's average is about 38 to 85.) IS this going to pose a problem?

Let me know

Thanks

Yeah I love those professional aquarium ponds. thats what really spurred the interest. I was just hoping to see some private built pond/tanks to put it in a little better perspective for myself.

I looked at the link you gave me. Pretty sweet stuff.

Sounds like a great project. But is going to need a huge amount of time, planning and investment (cash). Keep us posted and share your findings. I for one would be interested to see what you turn up.

Where are you planning on putting the viewing window? You would be better off building a frame for a pond and strengthening the side with the viewing window and filling in around on the other sides like a normal pond. This way the front with the window is secure so you don't need as much dirt. Basically one side is plywood tank and 3 sides are liner and dirt.

Yeah that is pretty much exactly what I want to do.

Build three sides into the dirt and then build on side with a viewing window. So if you wanted to stand on the upper portion and look into it like a pond then you can but then you can walk down a set of stairs and view it as a tank.

I don't know.....I'm just dreaming right now but that is one of my goals to build.

look around this section. They have some people that did outside setups like that.
