halide light brakes glass top

my new halide light just broke my glaass hood it got to hot and broke the glass

thats something i havent heard of... maybe you should make a wood frame or something to set the light on for now on

Didnt you run fans? That is a must with halides, aside form massive water evaporation.

ya I ran fans I have halides on all my tanks I like the way they look but I have never had one brake the glass

Are you sure it was the halides that broke the glass? Maybe you have a mantis shrimp in there.

ya I think maybe it hat a short becuase the m-fer was hot and I mean relly hot it burnt the crap out of my hand and the outher one was fine same kind. the thing that realy sucks is hood is a real odd ball size so I am going to have a hard time finding a new one

man that's way too hot or maybe the glass cover had already some thin crack before that you haven't noticed.
