my last brood of them all died... i added a little salt to my 1g breeding tank... my next brood it going to hatch today...

tank params are stable and just like a normal fish tank...

i hear that ghost shrimp babies require baby brine shrimp to survive. other wise u wont have any young survive

Mmm, depending on the species of "ghost shrimp" you may require brackish water for the juveniles. I forget which species of shrimp it is that gets the common "ghost shrimp" name that needs those conditions though.

Regular ghost shrimp though, you'll need really small food for the larvae until they develop into actual shrimp, otherwise they'll starve. I used smushed up egg yolks for mine, worked real well. A friend told me you can buy something called "golden pearls" for them to eat, too, worked for him.

there red claws. i just added some salt today.
by "smushed up egg yolk" you mean boiled eggs? i saw that on another forum but i didnt think i would EVER see little larve floatin' around in mah tanks so i just kinda forgot about it...

my first babie of the newest brood has just hatched today, hes swimin' 'round with the current, sometimes stopping for a snack of algae on the walls. I'm feeding them dust sized particles of betta flakes/ pellets and some gold fish pellets for the babie *minows, babie crayfish, and my amano shrimp....i moved everything to a 10G tank BTW.

thanks for refreshing my memory on the egg yolks!

*four (4) of them less than a centimetere long, they ignore the shrimpy :)

cool srry about the first batch tho
forgot to turn off my lights..this batch died at around...oh say, 96ish degres, i turned off the lights and they died just like the first batch , and one o mah babie crays died too (oVo)

96 degrees? u need to take that tank temp alot!!!!

is all that heat just from lights!?!?!?!? are you running metal halides? I highly recommend going to lowes or home depot and buying a 6 dollar timer for the lights. well worth the investment
