I'm about to get bred out of my home with these hrp critters...two clouds of fry in four days in Lazarus' tank. Two of his pink cousins have hooked up. They're breeding faster than I can separate. I'm gonna have to bust this up.

In the growout tank parents Slade and Speck are at it again for the third time. Slade has partitioned off a back corner with plants while Speck is digging another pit. Slade is chasing his 'teenagers' around again to clear the area.

In the 125 the remnants of Speck and Slade's second cloud are doing well (pics coming) 12 confirmed survivors. There are 5 runts (cousins) around 1 1/2 inches, and the huge adult males in a crazy mix of shapes, sizes and colors.

So here's the upshot...

Mongo and Pip are now great-grandparents, Slade and Speck grandparents. :screwy:

As they continue to breed the pink ratio grows more dominant but this is to be expected. More on that later.

This kit and kaboodle is going as soon as I can finish separating...want to keep a couple of the pink males. Only option I have for keeping any females is (you guessed it) yet another tank or putting a pair in with parrots Tango and Kong. I'm not running a freaking fishery!

Your tank is more like a money printer imo. The more babies you get, the more money you get from selling them to a LFS. It's like one of those shady crypto/bitcoin mines that my friend used before bitcoin crashed.

There's the rub...in my area there are few of the small stores left that might do that. 80% around here is Petsmart or Petco who only take donations. I'll make a few calls...I think Tropical Lagoon might still be in Chevy Chase near the district line.

Will be posting pics of the buggers...I'm toying with some lens apertures/exposures and such to get quality pics...these redpoints are always 'stutter starting' when they swim making conventional shots impossible. Also, no fry get eaten at ALL. Except for one water change mishap I've got a 100% survival rate across the board in three generations.

Lucky me...some folks can't get theirs to breed and I can't get mine to stop! Ironically the two fish who started all this (Pip and Mongo) aren't doing anything right now but I ain't complaining. Maybe I should toss some of these in the tanks
